Hello! I'm TheNidorino and I happened to come across your art and thought it was pretty cool! Then I saw on your profile page that you like criticism, so how could I turn down an offer like that?

I feel out of place critiquing you because you are at a much higher skill level than I. I am only in high school and I don't critique work very often, so if you feel what I say is unfair or out of place, don't take it too much to heart. I will mostly stick to the Pokémon, because I am more comfortable with those. In addition, I think it will be more helpful to comment on your sorta newer pieces rather than the older pieces (I'm not even going to touch SocketArchive).

095 - Onix:

I really like this one. Anatomically, however, Onix (and therefore Crystal Onix) has 15 rocks, including its head. I also think that since it is a crystalized form, light should reflect off of it more, therefore super-shines should be included

123 - Scyther:

I think you mentioned this in your description, but the lack of value (aside from the gradient) makes Scyther look really flat.

127 - Pinsir:

Overall, something about this looks off. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it may be the white outline of it in a dark atmosphere, or it being displayed straight on.

129 - Magikarp:

I really enjoyed the splash effect you made outside the border. It makes it look like Magikarp is leaping out of the frame. I think those extra effects on the border should be incorporated more often.

133 - Eevee:

I notice for many of your Pokémon, you tend to combine a cartoon-like chibi style with some realism. For Eevee, its smaller head and longer legs just don't mix well with the cute style you tried to make with the rest of it.

134 - Vaporeon:

Since Vaporeon is often associated with water, I think it should be swimming in water or have water on the ground somewhere. It looks strange that it is trying to swim in the air.

135 - Jolteon:

I've noticed that, at least for the Eeveelutions, you've chosen backgrounds that fit their typing. I think that Jolteon needs a more fast paced background or an electrical one. Same for Flareon, except fire based.

Commission - Throh:

I noticed you were trying to make an aura around Throh, but I think that the flame should be more exaggerated. Possibly, a different effect can be used like lines radiating around it or the veins popping on its muscles.

144 - Articuno:

I like the idea of encasing the legendary bird trio in glass. However, I think it should have been limited to Articuno since realistically, only sno-globes exist.

148 - Dragonair:

The foreshortening used is not as apparent as its head looks small compared to its tail.

151 - Mew:

I think that more tints should be applied to its bubble and its legs look a bit too large.

Well that's all I had to say. I still think your art is wonderful, despite what I said. Feel free to critique me.

Thanks for taking the time to leave critiques! Looking back at the DPD there are definitely a lot of things here I agree with and have (I hope!) learned from since back then. They're things I'll keep in mind now I'm starting the Johto edition! :)

I'm really glad you like my work, as well!
